Impersonation email, involves fraudsters impersonating genuine organisations, such as your bank, HMRC or perhaps even the CEO of the company you work for.
The email you receive may be asking you for your personal information or simply instructing you to pay an invoice or a tax bill.
Some of these emails may contain links, which may appear quite genuine at first, however, they will likely take you to a fake site where you are asked to enter your personal details or they’ll install malicious software on to your computer or device.
Watch out for unexpected emails, and never respond to emails that ask for your personal details, passcodes or login details.
